Hayley, a certified health and nutrition coach (and self-professed sun lover and coffee addict) promotes a healthy lifestyle without restriction, sharing her delightfully delicious recipes on Instagram and through her eBooks.
Q. What inspired you to launch your Instagram and health and nutrition resources?
Hayley: I had girls from my local area asking what workout plan I was following or what I was eating and I decided that if I was sharing it with a few people I might as well share it with more and hopefully help as many women as I could in the process.
Q. What does self-care mean to you and what role does it play in your life?
Hayley: Self-care is so important to me. I can always feel myself starting to get anxious or snapping at my partner more when I haven't made a conscious effort to do the things that fill up my cup.
Q. How do you like to practice self-care? Are there certain activities/rituals that best work for you?
Hayley: Absolutely! Gratitude journaling is a big one for me. I truly believe that starting my day with writing down 3 things I am grateful for in that moment really sets my day up for success. Also, a swim in the ocean cures everything for me, even if it is just for a short time. .
Q. Self-care isn't always easy. What advice do you have for anyone who's struggling to prioritise themselves?
Hayley: As cliche as it sounds, you can't pour from an empty cup. Doing the things that fill up your cup and make you feel recharged means that those around you get the best of you!
Q. Do you have a favourite quote, mantra or role model that inspires you to practice self-care?
Hayley: My favourite quote of all time and not just in relation to self care is "You choose your own happiness".
I honestly believe that making that effort and choosing to do the things that fill up your cup and make you feel grounded will lead to happiness.
